REFLECT
Jesus is ‘the new Adam’, indicated by St. Paul in the Letter to the Romans (5:12-21), in which he instructs the Church on humanity’s sin (original sin) through Adam along with the grace and life through Christ (salvation).

In the first letter to the Corinthians, Paul also says, “For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive … The first man Adam became a living being; the last Adam became a life-giving spirit”(1 Corinthians 15:22.45).

PRAY
Jesus, you are the ‘last Adam’;
While in Adam we were brought to death,
in You, we are made alive;
You were given as a ransom,
to purchase back what Adam forfeited,
And now with the hope of salvation,
Grant, good Jesus, that I may always live in you and for you.
Amen.
