OUR LADY OF FATIMA PROCESSION 2025
The Catholic Archdiocese of Sydney invites you to the annual Our Lady of Fatima Procession which began in 2023 to prepare our Sydney World Youth Day Pilgrims for their visit to Fatima. Witness the universality of the Catholic Church and feel the power of prayer, the strength and warmth of community, and the connection among the faithful youth of Sydney as walk alongside our brothers and sisters in Christ to honour Our Lady at the third annual Feast of Our Lady of Fatima Procession.
On October 13, 1917, Our Lady appeared to the three Shepherd children, Lucia, Francisco, and Jacinta, for the sixth time and final time in Fatima. A crowd of 70,000 people followed the children to the site where Mary appeared. The children saw a great light as Our Lady appeared to them revealing herself as Our Lady of the Rosary, reminding us all to pray the Rosary daily. As Mary disappeared, an intense light filled the sky as the sun moved and danced around displaying magnificent colours for all to see. This “Miracle of the Sun” moved everyone to believe in the apparitions and messages of Fatima. Our Lady fulfilled her promise to the Shepherd children of a sign for to believe. Let us join to in candlelight to spread the light that illuminates and warms the lives of everyone in the world, bringing us all closer to union with God.
