Description Cardinal Newman Faith Resources Inc. (formerly Cardinal Newman Catholic Bookshop Inc.)

The Cardinal Newman Faith Resources Centre has been operating in the Parramatta area for 30 years. Originally set up as a resource centre for catechists, we have expanded over the years and now stock Catholic books covering all areas of the faith including apologetics, theology, prayer, church history, bibles, missals and a great range of children's books. Devotional items such as rosary beads, crucifixes, statues and gifts are also available.

The bookshop is the brainchild of Fr James Tierney, now retired from parish work, who founded it as the Cardinal Newman Catechist Centre 25 years ago.
Cardinal Freeman gave express permission for the establishment of the Centre which he called "an approved private enterprise in the Archdiocese of Sydney".
In July 2000 the Centre changed its title and ownership passed to the Cardinal Newman Catholic Bookshop Incorporated whose members include an accountant, engineer, lawyer and computer programmer as well as Fr Tierney and other members of the Catholic clergy.
Marie McNulty manages the bookshop with assistance from Carolyn Giblin and Meg Bennet.
It stocks its own publications, The Catholic Family Catechism and Fr Tierney's Bush Boys series as well as imported books from publishers such as Tan Books, Ignatius Press and Bethlehem Books. There are also devotional items.
The bookshop has no parking problems and patrons can take their time to browse through the shelves.
